December 26, 2021 - Matured quite well. Rounded flavor profile with no residual tannins. Excellent wine for the money and perfect time to drink.
April 7, 2020 - Decanted for sediment. Would have benefited from standing first. This took a couple of hours to open up and shine. Don't know if was vintage or Winery. Not too familiar with Rutherford Ranch. By the end a solid, fragrant Napa cab. Very good value at $17.00 each.
March 13, 2020 - I'm more of a Left Bank, complex, refined wine lover. But, this was just spot-on and super enjoyable with a grilled prime NY strip. Nothing complicated... just salt, pepper, nice crust, and a really bold, in your face Napa cab with surprisingly well integrated tannins.
May 5, 2019 - Average, medium bodied, good tannins, but lack fruit flavours I would expect from a Napa Cab.
August 7, 2016 - Moderate sweetness followed by smooth tannin. A surprise at such a low cost.
June 22, 2016 - Decent Napa cab. Nothing bad yet nothing special.
March 9, 2016 - Serviceable Cabernet, with little to no apparent heat or jammy fruit. However there's not much in the way of structure or complexity. Got a bit of a raisin note toward the back, then a very short finish.
February 27, 2016 - Nose: Plum and blackcurrant jam, incense, hints of rose and violet, underlying herbal note to it that is very attractive. Taste: Dry, medium body, silky smooth textured though not rich/creamy. Notes of dark fruits: ripe fresh blackberry, figs, and very ripe black plum. Nice sweet lengthy finish, with smooth walnut skin tannin. Mid-palate of strawberry leaf extract, vanilla bean and some nice pomegranate to balance out with some acidity. Enjoyable just for the tastiness factor, but not overly interesting. 87
February 27, 2016 - nose: dark plum, dark nose, mossy, mushroom, a little flowery, lavender, not much wood, hint of raspberry. Taste: medium body, yogurt like texture, fruit forward, sweet fruit, mix berries, strawberries, and fig. Dry. It has a dry mushroom like finish. A little thin, but it has a chocolate (milk chocolate) like tone that follows a more fruity beginning. It is a straight forward delicious profile but there is something hollow about the body.
January 23, 2016 - This is the new leader in the clubhouse for sub-$20 Cabs. Unexpectedly good on the pop 'n pour. Tiny hint of tobacco, oak, and baking dough on the nose with ample red & black fruit. Surprisingly, there is barely any menthol which I was expecting from a sub-$30 bottle. Relatively light dusty tannin, very light spice/ white pepper, medium acidity, and nice tangy red & black mix of fruit with a touch of sweetness that matches the nose. This easily smokes Cabs twice it's price.
