December 25, 2023 - What a joy! Delicious smell and taste right out of the bottle, slightly improved with three hours of air. Definitely a mature wine, no need to wait I think, but this will probably last several years more. Other enthusiastic notes describe this wine well. My keywords were: forest, autumn, earth. Paired very well with a hearty partridge stew. Love a great Brunello!

November 19, 2022 - Absolutely spectacular. Not sure I can add anything more than the other community notes. Decanted for an hour but didn’t need it. Just beautiful. Paired with smoked lamb and root vegetables. From magnum. Has plenty of life remaining but not sure it gets any better from here.

May 10, 2022 - Lovely and in a sweet spot. PNP, Beautiful aromas of red fruit, sweet spices, earth, balsamic, mushroom, wet leaves, leather. Full body, with refreshing acidity, moderately warming alcohol, and supporting tannic structure (tannins are ripe and still moderately drying, but not in disturbing way). Very persistent flavor of red fruit (ripe cherry), meat, ashes, with hints of minerality and sweetness (vanilla). Well integrated. Nothing wrong with this bottle, actually very enjoyable (perhaps lacking a mid of mid-palate weight and fruit concentration). Drink now or hold for a few more years thanks to fresh acidity and ripe tannins.

December 18, 2021 - When the bottles are good, this wine is amazing. However, I only got 1 bottle of out of 3 that was drinkable. Other two where corked beyond recognition.

March 21, 2021 - One of the best Brunello’s I’ve had. Looking forward to seeing how the others develop over the years.

February 6, 2021 - Opened and decanted for 6+ hours, served with braised shortribs.

Upon opening was greeted by strong notes of balsamic and orange rind - medium plus acidity and tannins but certainly not overbearing.

After decant, she softened out and the sharper balsamic notes gave way to more brooding, balsamic-stewed strawberries notes on the nose with touches of candied orange and black licquorice.

On the palate, a very silky smooth mouthfeel with fine balance of good acidity and tannins to balance out the candied red fruit. There was a smidge of fresh brown leather on the back of the palate.

Overall, this was a really tasty (albeit simple) Brunello from a down year but cant' complain. Consistent with the other reviews, I do agree it lacks a bit of the complexity you'd yearn for, but what it does deliver is polished and very enjoyable.

July 12, 2020 - Soft, smooth, oaky candied cherries, hint of blueberry, vanilla sweetness, slightly stemmy long aftertaste. Tannins are mild, drawn out, and perhaps more noticeable after a few hours air. Acid is present and keeps it a bit tingly but in no way sharp.

If anything is lacking, perhaps it's concentration or complexity. It's all a bit muted and somewhat simple. What's there is quite tasty though.

January 30, 2019 - First bottle of six. Very nice ruby color. Noose of cherries, plum, cinnamon, and orange zest. Medium body, nice legs. Drinking very well despite the fact that this was not the best vintage. Still has room for improvement.

November 12, 2018 - The nose was dark and ripe, showing crushed cherry, plum, sweet spices and botanicals, with marine-influenced mineral tones. On the palate, silky textures carried ripe black cherry and sweet balsamic spice across the senses, yet I craved more acidity. The finish was medium in length, resonating on dark ripe fruits in an easy-going--yet never overdone--expression of Brunello. The 2011 was a bit one-dimensional, yet it would be fun to drink on its own.
