May 3, 2019 - Three Rivers Winery 2005 Meritage Red Blend - Deep ruby purple with color to the rim. Nose and palate of black currant and other dark fruit. Fine medium plus tannins and medium acidity steer the medium full body to a lengthy, tarry finish. Aboard close to Bordeaux as the New World gets. That this is still going strong 16 years on is a testament to what’s happening in the Columbia Valley and has bee for years. Enjoy with classic Cabernet fare.

October 11, 2012 - Very smooth on the palate. Showing soft red berries and some leather. A very easy wine to drink that should pair well with a meat and potato dish. Relaxed tannins.

February 18, 2011 - Medium dark reddish purple in color. Balanced notes of cherries, currants and herbs. Smooth in the mouth with flavors of red fruit, coffee and spice. Beautiful finish. Preferred this to the 2001 also acquired on sale at the state monopoly store, The 2003, sale priced at $20, was a nice buy.

February 8, 2011 - Dark berry aromas with a little herb action. Similar flavors on the palate with a bit of a smoked meat quality. Very smooth mouthfeel, well made wine.

July 11, 2008 - Very nice. Started out very interesting, chocolote & cocoa mixed with dark berries. Opened up beautifully, luscious & smooth. Great meritage.

    March 2, 2008 - Tasted blind.
Nose: dust, slate, metal, sweet blackberry jam
Palate: deep mouthfeel, lots of fruit, just not lots of character. Finish is short. IMO, not worth the price tag ($30), but good wine.

    Day two:
Nose: very closed - got much more out of it yesterday. Faint blackberry jam and twigs.
Palate: Fruit is still evident, more sour cherry than blackberry now. Some strawberry as well. The finish is still very short. Dissapointingly so.
