October 13, 2019 - Popped and poured. Nearly brown, pale rim. Delightful red fruit nose of strawberry and red raspberry. Red berries from front to back hints of earth through a long finish. Acidity makes this a wonderful food wine. More than 10 years ago I suggested "Drink up!" but this is singing now. The cork is soft and potentially problematic--protected only by the wax cap. Be careful....

October 4, 2019 - Good showing, better than my last one (corked) but not as good as other bottles I've had a few years ago. Pretty red fruit, earth, coffee, and light oaky notes, a touch thin at first but filling out more with air. Still, a bit on the austere side for my taste.

October 4, 2019 - Indianapolis V; 10/4/2019-10/5/2019 (Indianapolis, IN): I had pretty high hopes for this bottle, especially given the corked bottle I had last time I was down in Indianapolis, but I think I may well have to chalk this up to the standard LdH inconsistency. The nose shows a bit of coffee and a fair bit of brown spice, but the palate is just super high acid and seems surprisingly lean and high acid.

September 7, 2019 - This bottle was over the hill, cork soaked to the rim. Colour of an old boal or malvasia Madeira, and tasted like an old boal to start off with. After a few days, it picked up a little bit and was drinkable (high acid, madeirised notes), but again not how I would expect a sound bottle to be.

Provenance was about as good as possible, a purchase from the sole importer only 2 years ago, and professional cellared since purchase.
