February 24, 2023 - Pop’N’Pour, colour between cherry red and ruby red, smells of elderberry, cherry and a little bit of blackberry, full body, has a little bit of residual sugar, so not completely dry, in the mouth elderberry and cherry with a little bit of blackberry in the background, smooth in the mouth, in the aftertaste elderberry and cherry, good length (30 sec), really good red wine.

May 31, 2020 - Jetzt vorzüglich zu geniessen. Kirsche, Sauerkirsche, Cacao, Kräuter. Das „Speckige“ hat er etwas verloren. Mir fehlt es ein wenig

February 12, 2018 - Much more interesting than my previous bottle. Ruby to showing signs of bricking on the edges. On the nose, brambly red fruit and earth with a hint of cola. On the palate, excellent acidity and fantastic density, with loads of sour cherry and some earthy notes. Picks up with some pepper on the slightly tangy and peppery finish.

December 18, 2017 - Screw cap. The wine was medium ruby in colour and offered red fruit, iodine, forest floor, mild gamy notes, spice, liquorice, subtle oak and a mild, minty herbal component on the nose. On the palate, the wine offered red fruit, cherry, peach, iodine, spice and herbal mint, with fresh acidity, medium-level tannin and very good length of the oaky finish. The medium-bodied wine had very good concentration and should age very well. At the wine’s current stage, the oak is a little too prominent, but it should integrate with time. Hold for now and continue drinking from 2021.

December 9, 2017 - Ruby fading to garnet. Fragrant with cherry and wild strawberry along with cornelian cherry aromas all under the frame of cedar and smoke. Elegant with a silken texture. Persistent and lively. I like the rustic character here.

October 14, 2016 - Decanted; left in wide-bottom decanter for 1hr or so. Beautiful color. A touch of stems on the nose, and rather dark red fruit, but a bit reserved. On the palate, slightly angular and hard, showing more green notes, but perceptible fruit and very vibrant, with loads of minerality and nice black pepper notes. Serious tannin on the finish. I think I expected a lot more after tasting the Becker Sankt Paul and the Kammerberg (though, arguably, not good comparisons). A bit underwhelming at this stage, though definitely would like to see how this develops with a bit of age.

March 1, 2016 - Smoky nose. A bit muted. Sour cherries. The palate has powerful and full fruit. A bit drying in the end of the palate. Good.
