  October 31, 2019 - At first a little bretty, but that blows off. With time, the nose shows briary, cooler profiled dark berry fruit with cured meats, tar, and savory notes. Full bodied, a little wild and rustic, yet fresh with bright acidity that acts as a nice foil to the dark fruits. More tar, black berry fruit and violets on the palate. Quite long. Outstanding barbera in a larger scaled style. Delicious with Cincinnati chili (a new food for me).

  December 22, 2017 - Amazing barbera. Earthy, rustic Italian wine with lots of charachter. Pairs very well with food and has a great acidity and zest.

  May 7, 2016 - Somewhat bretty on opening, which eventually blew off after 4 hours in the decanter.
  Juicy Barbera fruit and excellent acidity, making this so very food friendly. Zesty verve that plays off food nicely, especially with a tomato based dish.
  Real quality, but lost out in a head to head vs the B.Mascarello. An excellent selection in the Rosenthal portfolio.

  November 25, 2015 - Crunchy and briery with an herbal, peppery background that plays del with its red and dark berry fruits. This is beautifully balanced with the right amount acidity that adds tension and freshness. Very savory and great with food. A bit wild right now, but suspect it will calm down in a year or two. That said, it has minimal chance of surviving in my cellar that long. Great Barbera. Love it.
