November 27, 2021 - This was almost "jammy"- should have kept my hands off of it for a few more years.
September 6, 2021 - Interesting how these have taken on weight. I remember them being a light lighter. Still very enjoyable and a nice change from the normal set of grapes.
November 27, 2019 - Just amazed by how good this is. Fruit was front and center at the start. Drank over 5 hours. Bright fruit integrated into a more complex wine over time. My favorite varietal from Sandlands.
October 6, 2019 - Slightly heavier than a Pinot, but could be fooled in a blind tasting. Plenty of life left.
August 24, 2019 - Light rusty strawberry colored. Savory, red fruited, saline. Medium acid and creamy bodied, long mineral finish. Very good now, though no rush to drink these.
December 12, 2018 - Bought this to pour for some specific people and to see how it's evolved, based on how impressively it showed on release. Extremely disappointed! Simple sweet fruit with confectionery oak. One note, devoid of interest or flaw. Did not evolve over hours or days. Pretty sure that's just how this particular bottle showed at this particular time. 70 pts
November 11, 2017 - Wonderfully fresh and light bodied, but not lacking in complexity. Wild red berries, dusty soil, hints of tobacco. Great stuff!
September 6, 2017 - Very satisfying again, for what is becoming my favorite CA producer. Bright red fruits, impeccably balanced with nice acidity and non-fruit flavors. Gulpable.
July 7, 2017 - Effusively floral nose, strawberry-rhubarb palate, med - body, med + acid
June 21, 2017 - A nice afternoon wine, light and flavorful. Tasty but not deep.
