Community Tasting Notes 10

November 18, 2023 - Just a stunning example of a CA CS-based Bordeaux blend. Full of fruit, but in an indefinable complex unit that fuses the fruit end-to-end. I would guess it would improve incrementally for the next decade, but then stay at it's plateau for another quarter to half a century. If the Judgement in Paris had not elevated CA to compete with FR, then this wine could have single-handedly done it.

July 3, 2023 - Best to wait another 5-10 years. So much more potential.

November 20, 2022 - When I first had this wine in 2018 I called it 'the best New World wine I have ever tasted' (if one can make such a statement). Since then I have had it 3 more times, and outside of the third tasting which I would have scored a 95, it has been pretty much flawless. A massive, full of black fruit, yet still very complex wine that will no doubt go on for another half-century. The finish seemed to last 2 minutes. Just an absolute pleasure to drink and one of the greatest wines I have ever tasted.

November 6, 2022 - Well, nailed it. Ready mostly from the start. Decanted and group consumed over a few hours. Harlan 2014 open as well and easily outpaced it. Hewitt Double Plus 2014 competetive.

July 29, 2022 - Afraid to rate and bring down the stellar score...

Opened this at Auberge du Soleil, and I have to say, it was very reluctant - needs tons of air. It's not as approachable as the 2010.

Great Napa Bordeaux blend, rich intensity, dark brooding fruit, and tons of chocolate and leather. As drank, I'd give it a 95-96. With proper air, could go higher. 2013 is such a tough vintage (to consume early)...

Saving my next bottle for another 5 years and will try again!
