May 26, 2018 - Outstanding, but was a pop and pour at a restaurant. I'll decant the next one in 3-4 years.

December 19, 2017 - Showed better this time as a pop and pour with 1 hour open. Big extracted wine but hightly structured with nice acidity. Chalky cassis, milk chocolate, blueberry liqueur, cherry syrup, sage, and sharp blackberry are in the foreground. Minerality (graphite) really kick up on the finish adding some freshness. The texture and depth fattened up substantially after an hour open. I’d recommend a short decant (1 or 2 hours) or holding for 5 more years.

October 27, 2017 - Decanted 3 hours and still pretty astringent and short. Still loads of chalky cassis, milk chocolate, cassis liqueur, cherry syrup, minerals, and sharp blackberry. The fruit is ripe but the tannins and structure are slightly overpowering at the moment. Definitely not the fruit bomb this has been in past years. Hold for 5 years plus.

June 8, 2017 - A bit more alcohol than my first bottle, knocking a point off the score. Still, this is an excellent wine, full of blackberries, blueberries, and enough acid and structure to stand up to red meats and strong cheeses. Incredible depth and a very long finish. Highly recommended.
