January 18, 2022 - This bottle was much livelier and less tired than the first bottle I opened recently from the same lot. Definitely a fair amount of bottle variation, because this bottle could have gone another 5 years. In a nice spot now, drink up.

November 24, 2021 - Not sure I'd quite call it tired, but its probably slightly past peak. That said, plenty of life in the tank and past primary and into tertiary mode. Drink over the next 3 years

June 25, 2020 - Full bodies though older. Nose of cassis and cherry on the tongue then leather and spice on the back end.

December 1, 2017 - Muscular, but lacking finesse. Thought it would open with some time, but never went anywhere interesting

March 26, 2017 - Soft, elegant, picking up some brown color. Drink now since it's approaching it's waning years

December 10, 2013 - I had this in my cellar and was saving for a vertical, but As I have stated before, I have too many wines and not enough friends who know the difference. The local merchant suggested that I open this before a few of the other I have, and he set my expectations a bit low. ( I was also remembering stories of TCA issues at BV and wasn't sure of the timing.)

Ran through a venturi, and first sip was good, no flaws, a nice mature flavor, with subdued fruit. After about another 30 minutes, I really started to enjoy it, and was pleasantly surprised, some dark fruit and faint cedar, with tamed tannins. If I had more, I would drink now, and make sure to decant.

Very slight bricking, and about 1 teaspoon of sediment.

November 5, 2012 - Wasn't impressed at first. Then, after siting on the couch, swirling it in my glass for 10 minutes while returning emails and generally forgetting about it, I took a sip. While not a showstopper, this is a great wine at the $40 pricepoint. It apparently needs some decanting, but a little patience will reward you with a beautiful wine with velvety tannins, and a wonderful finish. I'm thinking this is near the peak for this wine. It's probably nearing the downward slope. Buy it now... Drink it now.
