December 24, 2022 - Excellent
June 14, 2022 - This wine was really loaded. had everything one would want in an expensive cabernet. Concentrated and intense it was q pleasant experience sharing this with a Thoma delmonico.
February 15, 2021 - Dark ruby. Strong aromas of barnyard, tobacco and a touch of sulfur. Potent acidity. Typical Melka velvetiness. Sort of thin on the pallete. Tannin structure has fallen and drying tannins remain. Flavors of black cherry, lime zest and blackberry. Lingering acidity on the finish.
Decanted 30 minutes. Needed to open.
July 27, 2020 - A bit ‘blah’. Just lot of big mouth but no real complexity. Tannins could still use some work. Worth waiting a few years.
February 12, 2020 - Great fruit with notes of oak and currant and firm nice tannins perfect pairing with a rib-eye.
January 11, 2020 - High alcohol at first but opened beautifully when given ample time.
December 26, 2019 - Agree with the last few notes. This is in a really great place. Only issue was that this threw off a ton of sediment. But if you have a few bottles, open one now. Great value for $80~ at TW.
December 26, 2019 - Drinking extremely well right now. Bright red fruit. Plums and berries with a hint of cinnamon and licorice on the finish. Full bodied with silky smooth tannins. Could continue to improve for several more years.
July 20, 2019 - Consistent to last note, dark red and blue fruits, love the intensity, sweet spice (5 spice?), licorice, anise, cinnamon, violets, great texture and balance. Drinking very well right now, but will probably get better with a few years.
June 16, 2019 - Dark rich red and blue fruits, massive and luxurious mouthfeel, sweet cooking spices, ready to go right now, but could definitely last 5-6 years with no issues. I really enjoyed this.
