  October 10, 2023 - I agree with SIGNOTIM on this one. This is a good wine but marred but too much alcohol (14.5%) which weighs it down. The acid here feels insufficient to balance the ripe fruit. I bought this because I had the 2012 and it was far more interesting and fresh than this 2013. It will appeal to many because the fruit is good quality and the winemaker is skilled but for me it doesn’t outweigh the flaws.

  June 20, 2023 - This could have been much better. There is no denying the quality of the fruit. There is real substance, nice texture, and the meaty character of Syrah fruit. But the oak is way overdone. There is a char that masks the fruit... and it must be the barrel influence. And the fruit is also overripe, picked too late. I can understand how some might like this style but it's not an easy drink. And I don't think it will get any better. Drink up.

  July 29, 2022 - Part of a magnum night with my wine group at a NYC Steakhouse. This was a favorite of many of the group. Big and rich, it was a hit! Long finish.
