August 24, 2023 - Still pretty deep ruby/purple color and just some lightening up towards the rim. Perfumed, seductive and juicy, this is showing notes of sweet red cherries, some mint, also some crushed violets/flowery notes, a touch of graphite, sweet spices and pipe tobacco, later also some macerated cherries. There is medium-full body (bordering on full), with nice medium-high acidity but alcohol that is just a little bit recognizable. Tannin is relatively low. Pretty long finish.
A really beautiful and delicious Barbera from this excellent producer, a small step down from the epic 2008 though.

November 12, 2020 - So good! Dark fruit that is intense without overripeness and well-balanced. Not cheap for Barbera but well worth it. IMHO the perfect wine for a hearty Bolognese. Drink or hold.

February 15, 2020 - This has to be one of my all time favorite Barberas . Great cherry flavor on entry, lots of acidity to balance the fruit and considerably more complex than most Barberas that I have tasted. Slightly better than the 2013 in my opinion. Sadly my last bottle. Drank over two nights with lasagna! Marvelous!

November 28, 2019 - Outstanding example of Barbera d'Alba. Earthy, tannic, licorice. Plus great QPR.
