In Vino Veritas (in wine there is truth; people speak the truth when they are drunk), another four bottles of my cellar sacrifices (yes, I have gotten waaaaayyy behind in my postings, and no, I didn't drink all these since the last time you heard for me! 😀🍷). A rather eclectic mix to post this time, consisting of a 2015 Delightful and Strange Napa Red, a very inexpensive 2014 Head High Red Blend, a 2014 Raptor Ridge Pinot, and another 2014 Girard Petite Sirah. April 9, 2020 - Incredibly smooth petite sirah. Had with filets but even drank well on its own.
December 24, 2018 - Picked-this up along with a Dry Creek Merlot on Christmas Eve. Popped and poured. Very dark with flavors of plum, Earth and spice. This could use at least an hour decant. The wine progressively improved while it lasted, but alas, it was gone before it was at it’s best.
December 2, 2018 - Very solid. Had during an impromptu football/pizza party. The wife thought it had a bit of a funky aroma, but everyone agreed it tasted good. Really felt it needed some time to open up, but impatience won out...
November 24, 2018 - Big wine—dark fruits in nose (plum, black cherry), velvety chocolate middle, smooth mouthfeel. Smooth tannins in finish
October 21, 2018 - Med få ord: Smagfuld elegance! Duft af kirsebær og sorte bær. I munden tilføjes brombær og kirsebær med vanilje fra fad sammen med et strejf lakrids og krydderunter. Afsluttende tanniner tilføjer dybden og kompleksitet.
En vin vi bare elsker !
August 8, 2018 - Took an hour for it to open up. Smokey, some dark berries coming through. May improve overnight
