  November 16, 2019 - This really has been a great bottle and is still perfection. This was my last of 4; I had found this for around $30 and just yesterday saw it at Harris Teeter for $74. Point is, if you can find under $40 grab it. It’s a fantastic Chianti that has years left.

DDB did not try this wine during the Italy Revisited dinner, so it seemed right to pull this to accompany our assorted antipasta repeat of the prior dinner with charcuterie, Gorgonzola blue and other cheese and crusty bread. No change in the tasting note ... and DDB approves of the wine.

This is a youthful wine with abundant life ahead of it, yet quite approachable right now if you don’t mind somewhat angular tannins.. Tart cherry and balsamic join hands and skip off together on the finish. A blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, this wine ages for 14 months in French oak. Very little sediment. Double decanted 2 hours before serving. 13.5% alc. With antipasta of mole, prosciutto, toscano, finocchiona, gorgonzola dolce, parmesan romano, ossau iraty, alp blossom, peccorino, olives, artichokes) and pasta with shrimp and mussels in tomato sauce. Recommended.
