November 24, 2018 - This really opened up after about an hour in the decanter. On the nose plummy dark, almost tropical fruits with lots of enchanting spicy oak to round it out. On the palate there was a nice balance of acidity with smooth tannin and fruit weight. It had a lovely finish of coconut and cocoa. IMO with the extra couple of years of bottle age this is drinking really well now.

I love Sangiovese and this Brancaia was no exception - decent value if you can pick this up under $35us.

    November 18, 2018 - Clear, med+ ruby
Clean, med intensity of dark red cherries with earthy notes
Dry, high acidity, high tannins, med body, earthy, dry cherries, oak vanilla, meaty, long tannic finish, can drink now though can age further
    Very good

August 16, 2018 - 1 of 5 bottles at a dinner including Pinot, Rhone Blend, Bordeaux and California Zin. This was the favorite, esp. amongst the ladies. After an hour decant, a gorgeous nose of cherries, plums and some earthiness. Slight spice on the palate, nice acidity with a velvety smooth, medium plus finish. 89-90

March 4, 2018 - I reiterate my note from two years ago. This has smoothed out nicely. Not the body of a Brunello. But oh so good.
