November 7, 2016 - Similar notes as before but less funk and more stewed fruit this time around. Has several more years left but seems fully integrated and mellow.

June 3, 2016 - Initially so funky it tainted the glass for all other wines. Earthy and olive brine driven with a decent backing of mature black fruit and candied raspberry. Definitely better with food than on its own. Not going to improve a ton from here.

February 25, 2016 - This is the wine that saw extended barrel age (30 months) this year due to frost in the typical EBA Santa Barbara vineyard. Very old world style with plenty of musty funkiness initially. Mushrooms and soil blow off a bit revealing a mixture of stewed meats, ripe blackberry, sage, and creamy cassis. Drink now or hold a couple years.

October 29, 2015 - Crushed rock, black pepper, white pepper, baked dark fruits, slight hint of green (from stems). Beautiful wine. Medium acid, medium tannin, medium finish. Very well made. Drink with or without food.

April 5, 2015 - Wow. Powerful blue fruit and black pepper. For aging.
