May 10, 2023 - Decanted for 2 hours. Started out dark purple and lush, color softened to a deep red over time. Strong dark berry aromas. A bit of butterscotch/vanilla taste, the cab comes through with some vegetal and green bell pepper notes. Very slight secondary flavors started to show after another 2 hours. There’s quite a bit of acidity, suggesting aging potential. But it’s a bit flabby—I wanted more tannin. For me, all the promising components aren’t quite coming together. Have one more bottle that I’ll store for a couple years to see what else it might surprise with after more age.

December 8, 2022 - Currant, plum and black cherry notes. Damp earth and tobacco accents. Seems ageless. This has quality components but doesn’t entirely come together.
