  July 17, 2022 - This wine was dazzling shortly after the release and probably the best vintage from this label back then, in my opinion. This was a good bottle of wine, but I believe is past it prime. It's still showing well, good fruit and extraction but lacking the intensity, the energy that was dominant with this wine at its prime. Still, it's a dense wine that's ruby/crimson in color, dark cherry and berry fruit, cassis, a hint of oak but showing tart now and it never opened up even after two days. This was my last bottle but I will always remember how this vintage showed at it's prime. 92+/93 Points.

  April 19, 2022 - Just a brief note to say this is drinking at peak right now and, as the tannins are silky smooth, I see no further reason to hold it. It’s a delicious wine at a very fair price for a Mike Smith cab.

  January 1, 2022 - Nose of crushed fresh red and black cherry and raspberry, tart cherry, hint of charred embers, with a matching palate. Nice on PnP but could use some air as the acid was fairly prominent. With air the acid laid down and let the bouquet of fruit shine through.

  This is a wine I keep wanting to dismiss, but it’s so damn good that I find and buy more every time I open a bottle.
