October 22, 2022 - From 375 mL. This went fast and wish there was more. The ripeness is spot on and the tannins are ever present but polished so well with no sharp edges. Perfectly weighted wine and classy. Lovely.

September 1, 2022 - Classic PL. less espresso notes.

July 9, 2022 - Tobacco leaf, cigar box, currants, and plums are what you find on the nose. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, earthy, and savory with a cedar and tobacco leaf lean to its character. Classic in nature, texture, and nuances, give this just a bit more time in the cellar and it could add more softness. This has clearly improved with time. Drink from 2023-2045.

May 16, 2022 - Still way too closed up and dumb to judge. Popped, slow oxed 1/2, decanted the other half, didn't budge after a few hours. put the decant back into the bottle and corked for the next day. Next day, a lot of the same: pencil shavings, green pepper, silty tannins, firm, austere acid and structure. I think I'll try again in a decade.

February 4, 2022 - Opened with two friends and a bottle of ‘17 Insignia to do an old world/new world tasting. (Warning: apéritifs, two bottles of great wine and a finishing cocktail lead to your spouse letting you know you were too loud)
I like this expression of Pauillac, and it provides for a great contrast to a Napa blend. However, it had a tough time standing up to the J Phelps. Prob should have opened a bit bigger EU wine but don’t have many at this point.
Decanted for 3 hour which seemed just right! It was solid, light mouthfeel, and great rocky earthy profile.
At hour 5 (yes, I too am surprised it made it to hour five, note aperitif comment above) it started to lose a bit if it’s shine.
