November 29, 2021 - coravin pour... plum compote, charred sweet tobacco, intense and powerful but unpleasantly young, and rather closed.

November 4, 2021 - I liked the wine but it was a bit too expensive to me.

September 11, 2021 - Opened at 5 and then decanted a couple of hours before consumption.

Classic Pauillac with black currants, toasted oak, depth and tannin structure. Elegant, yet still with power. Long length.

Lovely wine which provides a degree of drinking pleasure now, but nowhere near its peak. Significant upside from here.

August 29, 2021 - This wine acts low profile, until one seeks to know it deeper.

Dark ruby on the eyes with narrow rim, purple hint.

Med intensity on the nose, with blackcurrant, cinnamon, pepper, oak

Dry, med+ acidity, med+ tannin, med bitterness, hint of spicy.
Pronounce intensity on the palates, med+ alcohol, med+ body, long aftertaste.

To me, it is kind of wine that try not to overwhelm food by its nose, but rather support with its nice palates.

April 18, 2021 - The same bottle previously accessed from Coravin. Had planned to hold it for a while but the cork continued to leak ever so slightly, which may account for why the wine never quite impressed the way it had previously. Who knows these things.

Tasted over three days. Stellar, pure Pauillac, and somewhat open-knit. So much to love now, and yet, it will be much better in time. Time, in fact, it really needs, no less than another decade.

The bouquet and fruit purity here leave indelible impressions, particularly for Pauillac. The terroir, though presently somewhat masked by oak, provides deep, place-centered satisfaction. The wine touches every part of the palate and finishes quite long...with that tinge of excessive oak...for the time being.

There is no reason not to drink this now...other than its future improvement. It should reach its prime by 2030 and hold through 2037-2040.
