February 3, 2024 - From half-bottle, decanted and drank with Montrose. Purple hue, plum, saline, tannic, just not showing much. Similar to the Montrose.

December 17, 2023 - We had it for a family dinner in HK, decanted for one hour but still too early to consume.

November 22, 2023 - Expressive, beautiful nose with wafts of blackcurrant and raspberry. Smoky spices, cedar and tobacco. A slight, pleasant green mint note. Refined, structured palate and an excellent finish. Starting to enter its drinking window but will only improve.

November 13, 2023 - Decanted for 1.5 hours. Deep, dark crimson, with watery rim, aromas of oak, rose petals, blackberries, black cherries, tobacco, forest floor, and a hint of mint. On the palate I got dried cherries, blackberries, and tobacco leaf, with earthy components. This wine is dry, tannic, and acidic. Medium body with a long finish. Layered and complex, these characters were evolving in the glass. I believe it needed a little more decanting, and probably needs a little more time in the cellar.

    October 3, 2023 - What JMOON said.

Serious and very well made, but will give much greater pleasure in 5 or so years' time.

August 29, 2023 - Deep garnet core, with fading edges but a slight violet hue. Ripe blackberry and cassis on the nose, as well as hay and dried grass, hen pepper and a very slight iron oxide feel. Not sure if there were any Terra Rosa influences though or just mostly gravel. Very weighty and intense, then a big chew from the tannins and tart acids, with ripe blackberry and black plums, as well as green fern and dill, and a hint of thyme and nutmeg, then some brine, which isn't overpowering against the fruits. I believe it can improve over the next 5-8 years, but if one insists, I won't say no to opening another bottle now

May 19, 2023 - Don't open or buy to drink now if you want your money's worth or a real representation of Pichon Baron. See previous note

This is tasty and accessible right now given the vintage, but needs time to show its pedigree.
