Clear color with beginning tones of brick. Beautiful nose of roses, sweet licorice, hint of tar. Subtle notes of aging. Very well structured wine, focused and firm body of fruit, lovely acidity and fine, but solid, tannins. Long taste. Long.
This is an amazing Barbaresco at its very peak as far as I am concerned. IMO it has many years ahead of istand it could achieve further smoothness as long as the beautiful fruit holds up to the firm acidity and tannins. And it probably will -

December 13, 2019 - Showing beautifully. At that lovely stage when the fruit is still showing youthful, fresh notes, but the wine overall is gaining the dimension and flavors of a mature Nebbiolo. Terrific.

God lenge, bra struktur, noe sødme og ganske slepne tanniner. Dette er skikkelig godt, tror jeg gir 93p (kr. 475 for 10 år siden og min siste flaske) Og derfor lagrer vi viner fra Piemonte

November 16, 2006 - Bright garnet. Stunning perfumes of ripe fruits, crushed flowers, spices and earthy notes. What a purity come out from the glass. Medium full body, outstanding length on the palate, elegant and balanced, with seductive tannins in the long finish. Definitely, more charming than ‘99s.
