March 2, 2024 - Clearly a notch or two up from the last bottle 9 months ago. Much more open and integrated now. Smooth and silky but not overly rich or ripe. Getting this strange, Rioja-like dill note on nose and attack. Otherwise a very nice left bank Cab blend, not overly ripe but still polished. Lovely! 91-92

December 31, 2023 - This wine has taken a positive turn over the past 18 months. It’s fleshed out, settled into its tannic profile and opened nicely. Just entering its prime window and should stay for quite awhile. Terrific qpr.

June 23, 2023 - This is coming around. It's still a stern wine but it is somewhat more attractive than I usually find Langoa or Leoville B. to be, even though 2014 is not really lauded as a welcoming vintage. This can make a good wine in the so-called masculine style. It certainly can go on for may years more. Exceeded my expectations.

June 10, 2023 - First bottle from a case bought a few years back based on Neal Martin’s en arrivage review for WA. His enthusiasm for the wine cooled a bit when retasting at Vinous later, and I was also a little disappointed with this first bottle. Decanted for about 30 min. This is a bit tight and shows plenty of oak initially so would suggest a longer decant or give it another 2-3 years in bottle. With more air the wine comes together but remains a rather strict and dry St. Julien, almost 2012 in style. Overall a solid Bdx but no don’t see a lot of depth or excitement. A good food wine for many years but no wow

June 7, 2023 - I wanted to try a bottle to see it’s development. Decanting with no visible sediment for anoint 30 min prior to tasting. Classic black fruits of cherry, blackberry, currant. Hints of cedar. No tertiary development quite yet, but you can almost feel it trying to poke through. Drinking well, but more time will benefit. Projecting 2-3 years to realize next stage.
