August 11, 2022 - Best bottle (Weindorf Kirchheim, Waldhorn Laube): Glass: Sophienwald Bordeaux
Popped and poured. Clear, deep golden color. Holly moly, this is beautiful for an entry level wine! Reductive, complex and a bit oaky nose. On the palate good grip, fine fruit (pear), salty mineral notes, spices, medium+ acidity. Yes, it still has a noticeable touch of oak, but it suits this wine. Very good balance, nice structure and texture. Good length. Drink now or within the next 5+ years. 91-92

February 1, 2019 - Great wine that really benefitted from breathing. Started out good but not great. After a few hours and at a higher temperature, the flinty woodsmoke took on intensity and provided for a Great drink. Full bodied and with a nice, acidic bite providing freshness and balance

January 12, 2017 - Very good. Quite burgundian, like a cross of Meursault and some high end Maconnais.

January 8, 2017 - powerful CH from Baden. a lot of oak but well integrated, some vanilla and discreet banana, not Californian style

July 30, 2016 - Great nose with yellow fruits and oaky elements. Reminding of a young Meursault. Taste is full, creamy but also crispy. The acidity drives it from attack to finish. Great wine!
