December 21, 2022 - Drank both 2013 Stonestreet Christopher’s Vineyard and 2017 Darioush Napa Valley along side a dinner of Waygu ribeye.

Stonestreet: opened 2 hours prior to drinking. Nose of plum. Well integrated tannins. Drinking great right now. Pyroxene at the finish. Typical of Sonoma Cabs. We don’t mind it but some of our friends do not like it. Nice long finish. Cassis, jammy on the palate. Compared to the Darioush, more muted and feminine.

Darioush: decanted 2 hours prior to drinking. Strong plums on the nose. Great nose! Tannins much stronger tannins. Still needs more time before it hits its stride. I would call it almost brooding. Wonderful, whole mouth feel with a long finish. Cassis and Napa dust on the palate. Definitely bigger and bolder than the Stonestreet.

Both are excellent, excellent wines. My wife and father-in-law preferred the Darioush while my son and I preferred the Stonestreet. But no losers in this group.

October 18, 2020 - Well made and ready now. Had enough acidity to carry the richness of the fruit.

July 11, 2018 - At the Healdsburg Tasting Room with the friendly, knowledgeable staff, nose of black cherry and briar, same on the palate, tasty, medium/big body, typical Cabernet Sauvignon, need three years to peak drinking, delicious fruit, almost mouth filling, lovely fruit, rich fruit, and a long finish.
