    July 28, 2017 - Sur les petits fruits et l'humus, excellent !

April 26, 2017 - Oak aged, bottled unfined and unfiltered. Marvellous Brouilly, juicy and with succulent red berry fruit, energetic but calm and relaxed, classical style, fresh but ripe, very gentle tannins, pure and silky, perfect weight (12.5% ABV) hints of flowers and green apple, seamless finish, very good length. Very stylish. At La Cave des Climats, Paris, France.

March 7, 2017 - Similar to my last bottle, showing densely packed dark fruit that unwinds to reveal a silky texture backed by a stalky undertone and with good precision. This really closed down on day 2.

January 17, 2017 - No formal notes: Lively dark fruit with forward blue and purple tones and a meatiness. Initially, it comes across as full-bodied, but in the glass it develops a more elegant personality. There is an underlying stalky tone that runs throughout the palate, but is remarkably interwoven with the fruit and soil tones.

April 3, 2016 - In comparison to the Foillard, this is much more traditional - lifted red fruit aromatics, good acidity and gentle grip, much more traditional texture (firmer and more gritty). Nicely balanced, just a bit too much kirsch and a lack of minerality for me. I look back at other notes on the Descombes Brouilly and have clearly found it problematic before. Or does it just need time?
