November 2, 2019 - Winebar [4 Whites, 8 Reds, & 8 *shared* bottles] from 11/1/19 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): WHAT a LOVELY P.N., Dr. Tom! I'm soooooo GLAD you decided to share it! :)

N: CLOSED; RIPE blk, poss red, rasps; Intensity lurking
P: Med, poss LM, body; RNDISH entry with very NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) met by an astringent pucker which, without even remotely losing contact with the init frt, SEAMLESSLY works its way into & through the quite LONG, impeccably BALANCED finish with an ALLURING swtness to the few, firming, dusty tannins. For now with food, but I suspect DESERVES another 9-18 mos, then drinking a yr or 2 beyond its 10th? A *sensational* wine! 13.9% My EXC+/Exceptional-; 94 pts & a "Cellar Selection" WE @ $58 (9/1/16), 93 Vinous (Galloni, 2/1/16), & 87 WS (7/'16). September 15, 2019 - Cherry and baking spice on the nose. The palate has lots of juicy cherry, but finishes a bit shorter than typical for this bottling. An easy, enjoyable wine. Not as enjoyable as past vintages, but still nice.
August 22, 2019 - Drank 2014 on 8.22.19, delicious, deep fruit, paired week with Ron’s saltimboca and pasta. Like the texture and depth
December 23, 2018 - Okay but lacked any depth not worth the money paid
December 18, 2018 - Darker in color with all manner of cherries on the nose, and a touch of what will likely become a bit of sous bois (no WS cola for a change, so that's cool). Dark fruit on the palate with some tight tannins. This will age and will, I think, become interesting. I'd give it 5 years to grow into itself.
September 19, 2018 - Drinking well in its youth. 13.7%, light on its feet! Just getting into a nice drinking window, most of its life is still ahead.
July 28, 2018 - Still young and primary, but lots of great juicy red cherry and cola flavors. Will benefit from a decant if drinking now, but also has potential to improve with more bottle age.
September 30, 2017 - Nicely balanced.
September 17, 2017 - I think getting a handle on this vineyard will require letting this one sit a while - no surprise. Oak showing a bit much, but the ripe pinot fruit is pleasant and sappy. Better in 4 years or so.
June 21, 2017 - Delicious. That's all.
