June 16, 2023 - It’s been a bit since pulling a Tribidrag, in part because they are so structured. I’ve forgotten how much acid contributes to their structure. This is definitely more acidic than the Raffanelli Zin from the night before (and two years younger). By itself, this was a bit shrill, but with the food … it’s incredible. Plum, pomegranate, smoke, blackberry, licorice, and ….oh yeah, coffee. Coffee on the attack and carrying through oh-so-long on the finish. The saltiness of the brined black olives met the acidity in the wine and the two clasp hands like long lost friends. My inventory tells me that I have more of these than I can find, so I hope I still have several more bottles somewhere. Some very slight sediment. 15.3% alc. With chorizo, assorted cheeses (Stilton, Gorgonzola, Gruyere), brined black olives. 06.16.23. Recommended.

February 12, 2023 - Didn't rock me. Had much higher expectations. A little too dry and acidic with a ripe cherry/pinot finish.

December 28, 2021 - Drank over two days. Delicious blackberry, mocha, white pepper. Fine tannins, strong acid backbone. Among the most compelling California Zinfandels. Integrated, but shows no real signs of age. Will try to hold my last bottle for at least another few years.

November 21, 2020 - This was great with a smoked duck rubbed in 5 spice. Beautiful fruit and a full-bodied palate to stand up to the smoke and fat.
