While not terribly special, it is indeed good, especially for the price.
I agree with Burghound's tasting notes.
March 9, 2023 - Great minerality, with a little rubber and smoke. It definitely had a Spätburgunder element to it. Fruit also seemed to be less stewed and more vibrant than the previous bottle. 13% ABV.

February 13, 2023 - Second bottle. Fresh, lively. Strawberries and hint of underbrush.
December 20, 2022 - A bit past its prime. Fading fruit, somewhat stemmy, with not much complexity. 13% ABV.
April 12, 2022 - Tea and cranberry. Very nice.
July 22, 2021 - Lightish but surprisingly good at $22 in 2017 and for vintage. Cranberry colored and on the palate (and tea/leather). Berry and spice on the nose. Uncomplicated and very nice. In a good place now and for a couple of years.
April 29, 2020 - opened 30 min; dark ruby red;nice cherry fruit, a little allspice on the nose; very nice red fruit, good balance, med weight on the palate; classic body for a food friendly wine, thin w/o food; nice finish, crisp acidity; very nice now will get a little better with 3-5 yrs if you value smoothness
