July 7, 2023 - unctuous, honeyed, pineapple, tropical, lovely and flavorful. has d'Yquem characteristics
February 15, 2023 - Alas, already premoxed.
December 14, 2022 - Rather simplistic though showing good Sauvignon typicity. Good acid and length. Reasonably well-balanced wine, though at this price point I certainly expect more. Very dubious QPR and much better examples can be found at a fraction of the price.
August 26, 2022 - Very young and bright. Drank next to the 2004 and it surprised me because it was so similar in style. Both are very much mouthfuls and round and almost creamy in nature but with this lovely honey note. Pairs great with seafood.
June 11, 2022 - Walk around tasting. A little bit of grapefruit/citrus but also some orchard fruit underneath and a chemical quality as well. Not flawed, just rather pedestrian.
December 23, 2021 - nose - tropical, passion fruit
mouth - also tropical, does remind a bit of d'yquem. nice richness but dry
November 27, 2021 - 4th Saturday Group: Uptown Brown Bag: Double blind. Pale color. Dominate grapefruit note with floral and grassy elements underneath. Grassy to the point of jalapeño at times. Citrus tones on the palate, with bright acidity. Obviously sauv blanc, and I guessed domestic, Spottswoode. Quite the surprise- I do not recall anyone guessing Bordeaux on this one.
September 29, 2021 - Still retains some of the grassy, lemon-inflected angularity of a typical Sauvignon blanc. Pineapple upside down cake, vanilla bean, focused like a laser beam. Incisive and lively as it etches its detail into your palate. Gorgeous, literally what you'd get if you took away the sugar and botrytis from a bottle of d'Yquem.
August 21, 2021 - Great food wine. Beautifully balanced acidity, minerality and a touch of oilyness that provides great body and mouthfeel. More comments to follow.
August 21, 2021 - Bright color. Amalfi lemon rind, with steel, minerality and light butter. The palate is a silky smoothness beyond anything we’ve tried before. Reminds us of a lemon chiffon you’d get in Italy that has that perfect balance without being heavy. Some lovely light melon flavors intertwined throughout the wine. Not sure the last time we’ve been wowed this much my a white wine. Incredible.
p.s. Chilean sea bass in a cream sauce with asparagus & cauliflower gnocchi
