April 1, 2023 - Dark berries and cherries in the bouquet. On the palate red and dark berries like raspberries and strawberries, good and juicy acidity, some chocolate and elegant oak. The tannin is slightly green. Good wine which needs another 3+ years to show more of its finesse. 90

January 10, 2022 - This wine has a hint of a gentleman's country club, all old golf leather, rubber, menthol, cigar smoke, meat, earth, cedar. Less evocative, perhaps, the wine has plenty of raspberry, strawberry, red plum, and green bell pepper (definitely some CS in here), with mushrooms, meat, forest floor. The tannins are firm and cement the full body of this wine. It is outstanding quality and it is one of those wines you don't want to put down, though doing so will pay benefits - watch how it unfurls in the the hour after the first pour.

March 21, 2021 - Three years on from the last review and perhaps the wine has evolved but I am afraid I am about to record some very different notes to other reviewers.

Decanted 2 hours before drinking, the wine was very well balanced. Black cherry flavours, cedar notes and spices dominate the nose. The body had plum, chocolate and cedar. Had a good finish with a good mouth feel. All wrapped by soft tannin and acidity. Quite a feminine wine. Drink now or 5+ years where it will get better.

October 13, 2018 - Popped and poured, pretty much.

    Deep crimson, not totally bright.

Nose of sandalwood, spice, deep plum, olive (I know, I know, this is not Rhone, but I just have to be real), blue cheese.

Touch of pepper and heat on palate; medium-high alcohol, medium tannin, medium-high acid. Overall a fairly typical young Bordeaux but not very complex or interesting. I don’t think this will improve much with age.

October 14, 2017 - During a 2014 walkabout arrivage tasting, no tasting notes given, only selective comments. In general I did not walk away excited after sampling ca. 40 wines (to be fair, all the big weights were missing). In a nutshell, while the vintage is pleasant and fresh, it is often too lean, lacking charm and aromatic depth. Still, Bordeaux being Bordeaux, the wines are not made for immediate drinking so, I don't see the point in buying them now. There will be plenty of them in the market in 2024 when they reached their peak and prices then will probably still be relatively attractive given the release prices. TN: This Pomerol never convinced me. Hollow, oaky commercial basic. If it had not written Pomerol on the label it would be a 20$ wine and not 50-60$

March 30, 2017 - Medium bodied, floral, wood, spice red fruits are there from start to finish. Drink this young as I suspect the wine is not going to get any better.

October 19, 2016 - Ripe and fruit-forward on the nose with notes of oak and spices. On the palate also fairly accessible. The tannins are a bit angular, there is good acidity and decent length. 89-90+
