November 29, 2019 - Hermitage Wines - Château Smith Haut Lafitte Trade Tasting: Medium ruby. Rose petals on the nose, grass, and a slight bit of cherries as well. The flavours were somewhat similar though, mainly of rose petals and cherries. A fair finish

October 12, 2019 - Decanted for about an hour. Very dark plummy purple with blueish glints. Lots of long, slow legs. Smokey, plummy, boysenberry nose. Some crushed oyster shell and a hint of leather and meatiness as well. Medium full bodied. Juicey black and purple fruits on the palate. Black currant, black raspberry, blue plum skins, some oak. Correct acidity. Sandy tannins. Dry finish. Good flavour replays. Classy at this stage but very young. Lots of upside but an easy 93 points right now.

September 21, 2019 - A pleasant surprise on an Air France flight (the second wine was listed in the menu, but they were pouring this one). Obviously young but drinking well despite its youth and my altitude! Typical BDX notes of dark fruits, pencil shavings, some green vegetal characteristics. Tight young tannins but drinkable nonetheless.

October 19, 2018 - New York Wine Experience 2018 (New York Marriott Marquis): Blackberry, graphite, lead, and cedar with polished tannins. This is clean wine with a long straight elegant finish, complexity is not as good as the 2015 but still thoroughly enjoyable.

July 4, 2018 - Tasted next to a barrel sample of 2017. Not too dissimilar stylistically. Also very pure and lifted in terms of fruit, polished, elegant with good ripeness and generousity. Spicy on the palate, well integrated tannins, fresh and vibrant. 92-93+
