March 4, 2024 - Unlike other 2014s tasted last week, this was quite backward and unyielding, with prominent and quite harsh tannins. Nevertheless, there was a fine silky quality to the fruit, which should dominate the tannins in a few more years. Overall, I was not impressed enough to buy more - it reminded me too much of the 08, which is not their best. Hopefully it'll improve.
June 24, 2023 - Relatively unimpressive fruit, even if with some good earthiness, after several houra of decanting. Not the best vintage.

Day 1: Classic Pessac with gravel, roasted Chesnuts, leather, wood, dust and earth. Drinking nicely on the pop and pour. 91 points
Day 2: Day 2 showing even better with minerals, gravel, dust, wood, blueberries, Chesnuts, earth and menthol. Medium plus finish and a really nice Claret. 92 points
Day 3: Not as good but solid. Sour cherry, minerals, gravel, light wood and red currants. Finish is shorter and less intense than the peak on day 2. 90 points
Recommendation: Drink over the next five years.
October 18, 2022 - Dark garnet colour. Pruny, mature nose with forest floor, mushroom and marmite aromas. Solidly built, assertive palate with peppery tannins and a quality, graphite mineral essence to the flavours; firm dry finish. Smells a bit over-the-hill but the palate is still lively and compelling.

September 20, 2022 - 66% Cabernet, then Merlot/Petit Verdot. Nose shows earth, pencil shavings, fresh earth, potting soil, dried dark fruits. Palate is big style, but still approachable, probably a little young still but should do well with more air. Nice value.

April 16, 2021 - Short on many dimensions even with several hours of decanting. More cellaring might help, but I am not convinced it necessarily would. The 2015 vintage of this drinks materially better right now.
April 1, 2021 - Elegant bouquet of dry black fruits, cigar box, savoury spices and hint of earthy gravel. This needs an hour in the decanter to open up the nose and smoothen the tannins. The same personality is found on the palate. Fresh and clean with rounded medium-bodied structure. Good length in the finish with afternotes of eucalyptus and cedar. Ready to drink now with some decanting. Will last for at least 8-10 years.
