March 26, 2024 - Tasted at an Evening with Friends alongside 2005 Mouton Rothschild and 2005 Chateau Latour. The 2005 Chateau Larcis Ducasse has reached it's apex, and is highly approachable although it will remain perfect for at least another decade. Immediately after opening and decanting the freshness of the nose and flavors were profound and continued to develop over a 2 hour period. The aftertaste lingered for a full 45-60+ seconds. A blend of 78% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, this amazing opulent wine with very limited production should continue to give great pleasure. Kudos to it's St. Emilion origin.

    March 10, 2024 - Still young
This needs a good long decant or more years in bottle
This is very good now but there still are tannins and some rough corners that time will tame

March 1, 2024 - Opened about 30 min ago. Wife is making a red sauce for dinner. So the smells in the kitchen are great. Stuck my nose in it for a quick whiff. Beautiful. And I’ll agree with a previous post, no sign of age. (Well there is some aging here but this wine has quite a ways to go but so far awesome). I’ll be back in an hour or so!

Ok I’m back. Still awesome. 1.5 hours in. Still had lots of tannins showing so this will definitely mellow (and in my opinion get better). Don’t think this is a 100 pointer like a previous notes but solid in the mid 90’s

February 23, 2024 - Still wonderful balance with red fruit, tannins and acidity.
Good residual secondary and tertiary flavors.
    Wonderful wine
