July 18, 2021 - A nice bottle, but had the disadvantage of following a perfect 83 Palmer.

June 17, 2021 - Wine Diner (Ada St): In a perfect spot and a case study in mature, complex left bank Bordeaux. Full throttle aromatics and flavors that lead with earthen, herby fruit made nuanced with cedar, graphite and attractive funk. Plenty of richness and structure. Will hold at this level for 10+ years.

June 17, 2021 - "Drink it while it's delicious" (Chicago, IL): An absolutely gorgeous bottle of this, showing a very clearly delineated note of graphite. Fully mature with the leathery elements on the palate, but there are still the requisite dried fruit and tobacco flavours here. The intensity is a little less than in a vintage like 1989, but this is a thoroughly complete and mature example of LMHB.

May 10, 2021 - Mature, lovely, enjoyable. I suspect these are at their peak, and would drink rather than hold.

March 25, 2021 - Lovely straight out the gates, very nice aromas, open and briary, classic Bordeaux. So nice in the mouth, with very good sweetness and freshness. Delicious.

(Château La Mission Haut-Brion) Medium brick red color; lamb jus, rosemary and cassis nose; lovely, sweet and tart cassis and tart plum palate, with good structure; medium-plus finish
