December 29, 2023 - At thirty-four years, the fill level, label, foil and importantly the cork, were all in pristine condition - the cork showing slight saturation but still integrally intact. This was past its apex but pleasant and still within its acceptable drinking window, but at a point where it will no doubt diminish from age here forward.

Garnet colored, medium to full-bodied, balanced, smooth but relatively simple blackberry fruits with notes of mushroom, tobacco, dusty rose and hints of milk chocolate with soft fine tannins and elegant texture on the moderate finish.

April 10, 2023 - Tasted blind next to the 1999 Pavie. Vegetal, seems shut down and has a very unpleasant bitter finish. No amount of air helped it.

February 20, 2022 - Chez JPL: here is still fruit, a bit rustic and tannic, the saltiness of the terroir, well balanced.

June 24, 2021 - förstår inte de låga betygen här på cellartracker på detta vin. Drack från magnum. Helt fantastiskt vin.

May 21, 2021 - Not fair to this wine - we drank it alongside a 1970 Cheval Blanc - this was the backup wine to a flawed 70 Margaux, which in retrospect makes no sense whatsoever. But I guess I just assumed I wouldn't need a backup. Anyway, while obviously a good wine - great material, good balance, great potential, this showed like an immature toddler next to the 70 Cheval.
