June 7, 2021 - Final bottle. Screwcap. When I bought this at the estate, Bob Lindo told me: give this ten years, and be amazed! I didn't quite manage that, but at seven years this is very impressive. It's Bacchus obviously, and not Sauvignon Blanc, but even very experienced palates would be hard-pushed to notice at this stage. The overt thiol and pyrazine expression is distinctly Marlborough-esque, but the smoky slate Darnibole minerality mimics the silex found in some of the best vineyards in Sancerre very effectively. And then there is a gentle, honeyed richness which I associate with aged Baron de L - another link with the Loire. The finish is crisp (TA 7.6 gr/l) and complete. It's a very impressive wine, clean as a whistle and it has aged very well. We must go back to Camel Valley soon, if Covid-19 allows, and if the representatives at the border of the Home Office's hostile environment will let us through. I think it's called an insular mentality?!? Drink now - 2024, if you have any left.

May 29, 2021 - Really good. Tastes astonishingly young. Knocks spots off most Kiwi Sauvignon. I bought this at the vineyard 4 years ago and I never thought it would become this good. Long too. Great with asparagus. Bravo.

January 29, 2021 - Cornish wine, the world is changing. I probably should have guessed that they could make a good dry white because the English sparkling wine is so good. Screw cap, nice dry table wine, very good with food.

May 18, 2019 - Clear, pale lemon color. Fresh, clean and very pronounced aromatics on the nose: white blossom, elderflower, freshly cut grass, lemon peel, tart grapefruit and a salty mineral component. Acidity is definitely there but more subtle at this stage of development; plenty though to provide a medium plus finish. I’d previously had this producer’s white blend, and I liked this better with no notes of bitterness on the finish. Impressed with the quality the Brits have developed over the last decade. Very good wine, time to consume.
