May 3, 2018 - Monthly tasting club LTC 2018-05; Chaos (By BW @ LWH): Still youthful bouquet with a lot of cherries, red berries and green herbs. On the palate darke and red berries, vanilla, bell pepper, some medicine and sweetness. Good acidity and round, supple tannin. Will improve with 2 - 6+ years of ageing. 88 - 90+
April 5, 2018 - Not a lot of aroma, and mild flavors. I taste dark cherry and vanilla and some herb, but I wish these were stronger. Smooth, but thin.
May 14, 2017 - Opened this after finding a $100 2012 WA cab too young to drink. Nice comparison: savoury and Bordeauxish with balanced fruit and herbaceousness plus some old world minerality that made it by far the most satisfying drink. Terrific value for under $20.
March 4, 2017 - ST Wine Fair (St Regis Singapore): ntense, flavorful, rich, savoury
December 10, 2016 - good bold fruity better than 2011
November 6, 2016 - what a wonderfully surprising wine. Excellent structure. does not need much time to blossom. Oddly, not sure this wine will improve with aging.
June 28, 2016 - Tasted blind. Medium ruby. The nose is clean, with aromas of ripe red currant, blackberry, black plum, savory herbs and mocha, with earthy and stony components and some subtle oak-induced aromas. The palate is dry, consistent with the nose, with medium (+) tannins, acidity and alcohol (14%). This is a well-balanced, medium (+) bodied wine which has ripe fruit in the fore palate as well as a medium (+) savory finish. I actually thought it was a Right Bank Bordeaux, given its Old World style. It is drinking very well now but will continue to improve over the next year or two. A very good value.
May 29, 2016 - pretty intensive arome of blackberries and strong spice tones, full bodied wine with expressive spicy ending
February 7, 2016 - Great price for nice food pairing wine with rich dark juicy fruit (blackberries, black raspberries, some black cherries), some vanilla from wood, racy acidity and somewhat rustic yet structured tannins. Touch of cocoa and lots of earth.
January 31, 2016 - Old world style. Dark berry, earth, tobacco, crushed rocks with smooth integrated tannins. Finishes long with cedar. Paired well with a Tuscan pork tenderloin fired in an iron skillet.
