September 18, 2019 - Simply lovely. Decanted for 2h. Round, voluptuous and mellow. Pure margaux.

August 31, 2019 - Still not ready to open at 16 years of age. The intense tannins overshadow the quite substantial fruit. Suggest waiting until at least 2023 to open. Probably good until 2030. The window on CT, which currently says 2009 - 2020 is way off.
While decidedly not a crowd pleaser at this stage, it is quite good, and a treasure for those who are OK with the very tannic balance.

August 26, 2019 - Immediate strong notes of black fruits that can be smelt from pouring at arms length. Dark ruby / purple with no bricking. Big, full bodied, sumptuous. Still very tannic which sticks to the teeth. Chocolate. I thought higher alcohol than 12.5%. Will last decades. Needs lots of air or big food/steak at this point. Drank from magnum from SM.

August 13, 2019 - Cool autumn forest floor leaves, crunchy, fresh! Lovely margaux. Opened up nicely over the course of 2 hours.

(Chateau Lascombes Margaux) Exotic nose, pickling spices, and a great depth of fruit. This is distinctive and certainly denotes a wine of quality. Full, creamy presence on the palate, with firm, ripe, peppery tannins which show particularly on the endpalate. Decent acidity. It doesn't show much Margaux character, but is ripe, well-knit and certainly impressive. Despite criticism surrounding lack of typicité, I certainly prefer this to the Lascombes of old.
