January 21, 2019 - Our first bottle from a case that hasn’t been touched since 2006. Upon opening was super gamy with lots of forest floor. After 75 minutes decanted totally changed. Was absolutely wonderful with grilled filet. Great fruit, integrated tannins and a long finish. 94 May be conservative.

January 15, 2019 - Really pretty well resolved, especially for often oaky Lascombes. Delicious with sous vide chicken thighs baby.

January 11, 2019 - I’d love to pull the old okie doke non-alcoholic beer keg trick lol on some Napanomics blow hard and watch them drink this one blind...tell them it’s a cult blend from like Yountville or something lol...line it up next to three “other” overpriced/overextracted/overnapanomics’d reds...and watch as Napa bro gives his “expert” opinion declaring this the WOTN lol...and do the dramatic old world reveal...and then giggle as he justifies why he’s still “really a Napa guy” lol...we probably won’t be hanging out again lolz

November 25, 2018 - Wine was properly stored from purchase upon release until consumed.
Beautiful color. Wine was opened 20 minutes before drinking, left standing in bottle.
Spectacular bouquet. A fruit bomb - scents of cherries, raspberries, frais-des-bois, citrus, vanilla, myrtille, cassis, plums. Layers, each sniff reveals a different fruit.
After 40 minutes, spice adds to the mix -cardamon and bergamot. Tannins are in balance, add structure but smooth. A sweetheart of a Bordeaux. Should have opened on Valentine's day.
After 60 minutes, still a kaleidoscope of scents. Maple syrup. Forest floor. Peach. Plum. Green banana. Walnut. Still finding more layers on each sniff.
Dense, dark chocolate mixed with myrtille.
    What an amazing trip. WOW.

(Chateau Lascombes Margaux) Exotic nose, pickling spices, and a great depth of fruit. This is distinctive and certainly denotes a wine of quality. Full, creamy presence on the palate, with firm, ripe, peppery tannins which show particularly on the endpalate. Decent acidity. It doesn't show much Margaux character, but is ripe, well-knit and certainly impressive. Despite criticism surrounding lack of typicité, I certainly prefer this to the Lascombes of old.
