November 20, 2019 - Had the typical syrah funk on the nose when first opened. Decanted for about hour while we drank through a Cab Sav. What a big, butch wine! Tons of black fruit on this one but oh so delicious. Quite a few years left on this one....unfortunately, it was our last bottle.

April 27, 2019 - Whoa mama! I think I might have found a near-rival to the Sami-Odi. Emphasis is on 'near.' This wine has POWER. Next to a 2012 Lillian, it just seemed to have more going on. This one in my opinion does not go to the savory meaty side, and is maybe a little bit more to the fruit side. Powerful black fruit, baking spices, nutmeg, caramel apple, plums, hint of grilled meat that I was getting more on the finish. Also quite peppery on the finish. Really nice. This one could probably be cellared for another decade at a minimum, but a really nice wine opened tonight!

August 17, 2018 - My first Pandora after having several of Alban's Syrahs and loving them. This was decanted initially for about 45 minutes then drank over the course of apps and Bouillabaisse that Paula made with haddock, shrimp, mussels and garlic, tomatoes and herbs grown in her garden. The wine was a dense purple color and matched the food perfectly. The nose was enticing and the first time I will use the term bacon fat that I often read in other notes about Grenache based wines.
This reminded me at times of a top-end CdP but without any of the funk. The finish was medium but at times a bit sour. I think the 2011 vintage was weak for Paso but this was a well done effort considering that. Can't wait to try my 2013 to see if it has more weight as this was a bit on the light side at times.
