November 20, 2022 - Holding up very well at almost 10 years. It has a nice acidic backbone which helps. Drink or hold, my previous tasting note applies. Cheers!

December 27, 2019 - Dinner w/Isobel and Jeroen - eclectic and fun lineup of wines (Chez Hoevers - Princeton, NJ): Second wine of the evening, good excuse to open this. Our hosts are in the ABC (anything but chardonnay) camp with their tastes for white wines. Slight chill, Pnp.

Mostly consistent with prior bottles. Golden, orange tinge color. Nose showing floral notes/honeysuckle and some lemongrass. Palate of "yellow liqueur", orchard fruits, poached pear, apricot and quince (?). Interesting range of flavors and secondary notes. Mineral notes through the mid palate. Medium weight and long(ish) finish.

Interesting and well made wine - you dont see much American Roussanne, I was not sure this would still be as expressive and fresh as it turned out to be. That said, I would drink over the next few years. A hit with our group

August 11, 2019 - Color/App: clear deep yellow/nearing gold core/quite viscous. Not surprisingly bold nose of tropical fruits (mango/guava), honey, lime zest and a hint of petrol. Full bodied palate showing honey, tropical fruit again, a bit of lemon and lime. Good acidity and the alcohol (14.9% !) is actually hidden well. Nice, moderately long finish. My last bottle of the '13 and I'd say it's time to drink up as I don't see much upside from here . . . .

January 14, 2019 - PnP. Cellar temp. Lots of citrus fruit. Grapefruit notes. A very slight whiff of petrol? Crisp bright acidity. Light mouthfeel and ok finish. A great easy drinking weeknight wine. I enjoyed this

December 31, 2018 - Some citrus honeysuckle flavor but definitely a fermented beer-like finish.

October 27, 2018 - At home with some "Local Greek" takeout...First bottle from a batch bought at auction. Slight chill, PnP, drank over 2 hours.

Golden, orange tinge color, cloudy. Nose showing floral notes/honeysuckle. Complex palate...a lot going on.. quince, pear, candied pineapple, lemon zest toast, apricot, lanolin. Oily and viscous texture (in a good way..). Medium weight and long finish. Minerality and crushed rock on the finish.

This opened up nicely over the time we drank it. If venue allows would be good to air/decant this for an hour. Slight chill adds to the crispness and expression of the wine, too cold and it may close up. Great now...should continue to evolve if wanting to cellar.

January 6, 2018 - Pnp from the cellar. Late summer floral aromatics of ripe honeysuckle, lanolin and quince. Golden yellow color. Slight bitterness in the back of the tongue at first taste. Quince and pear flavors intermixed with a strange nuttiness. This wine is very difficult to describe! Each pour brings a weird sewage funk nose that blows off and reveals elegant nuances of indescribable flavors and aromatics. EG #ArchitecturalArtistry #WineArchitect

August 8, 2017 - There is a lot going on here. Oily hazelnut and almond nuttiness up front, followed by fresh lemon, then jasmine tea, strong flavors of rainier cherry pits, apricot, pineapple all on the midpalate, with a strong dose of burnt, bitter orange peel on the finish and just a shy whisper of honey. Really delicious.

I liked this right from the start and, though I gave it an hour of decanting, I’m not sure that this needed lots of air. Goldstein says “even though it comes off as rich and exotirc, with an apparent lack of structure that makes it seem as if its’s falling apart, it can hold that pose for years, even decades.” This seems like an apt description. This wine seemed very ripe to me and even more so on day 2 (the color was a dark orange compared to the 2016 Cote de Rhone Blanc that I paired it with), but I wonder what would have happened with some age?

    Very food friendly
