  March 2, 2018 - Classic big and powerful napa style wine. The structure is very balanced with a perfect amount of firmness. The best part about this wine is the perfectly pitched acidity that perfectly balances the boldness of the fruit. A very well executed napa cab. It is in a good place right now but it can easily hold for longer periods of time due to the powerful acidity.

  July 1, 2017 - Removed from a 55 degree active cellar and slow oxed for 2 hours. Consumed from an Italesse universal stem. Poured a surprising medium dark crimson hue, making me wonder as to the pitch and concentration of this wine. Very elegant nose of black plum, dark cherry, menthol, and some cocoa bean. Very tart on the palate and would have easily mistaken this for a 3rd/4th growth Bordeaux in an average vintage.
  
  Prominent tastes of sour black cherry, plum skin, and tangy blackberry. Somewhat hollow mid palate with a non descript finish. Since I was thoroughly enamored with the traditional estate bottlings 2008-2010 in the past, I am wondering if this was in a dormant stage. Certainly not pleased with the QPR or how this bottle showed today..... If I had more I would wait 5-7 years.
  
  Note edit: After 6 hours and pairing with some prosciutto and Spanish hard cheese, the wine started to come alive. Still a strict vein of acidity and Bordeaux like reserve, but notes of vanilla, rich plum, graphite, and dark fruit emerged. I just think this wine needs more time....
