March 27, 2024 - Cork broke. Still drinking well but fruit has faded/softened. Nearly black in the glass, briar, hint of plum.

March 23, 2024 - Cork was in perfect condition. Was worried based on some earlier comments. Intense and complex fruit but not overbearing. Alcohol slightly higher than I would prefer but it did not detract from the overall experience. Deep rich color. Drinking window still has a bit of time left. I’ll probably hold my last bottle until next year.

February 16, 2024 - Cork broke when I opened, so I filtered through an aerator. Was a beautiful color and drank very well with very little time in the decanter. Delicious and expressive. My feeling is it’s at peak, and probably worth drinking over the next year or so.

January 20, 2024 - Aroma of alcohol and vanilla. Huge dark fruit flavors backed by bitter berry tea. Bitterness usually indicates unresolved oak tannins to me, and this is likely the case. It has tasted like this since my first bottle in 2015. Not bad with pizza. This wine needs food. My last bottle, and I’m happy about that. 100 points from Suckling. 🤷

January 13, 2024 - Decanted. The cork came out in two pieces and the filter took out the particulate. The nose is quite expressive. The palate is nice but more reticent over several hours. Cherry and earth notes. These two notes are predominant but done well with a sleek mouthfeel and drying, tannic finish.

October 19, 2023 - The '10 Siro Pacenti was in my view the most offensive of the three modern wines poured at a 2010 Brunello horizontal. The flavor profile here was very dark and extracted, while there was a bunch of drying, wood tannins on the palate.

On the nose, I found super dark, black fruit, vanilla, grilled herbs, and smoke. On the palate, the wine shows a similar impenetrably dark and unusual expression of Sangiovese, while the texture is very rich, concentrated, and tannic. The tannin quality here is low, with the tannins really drying out the mouth, and it's unlikely they will integrate in a realistic timeframe.

October 12, 2023 - Clear ruby color. A bit gritty, bright cherries, menthol edge, balanced. A food wine.

June 17, 2023 - Very classy Brunello from such a great producer; feels traditional, no real leather and sunburned tomato tone I get form some Brunellos, this is more about power. Showing well now, though may benefit from a few more years; 17 years from the vintage may be the sweet spot for Brunello generally.
