April 18, 2022 - Strawberry, dried game meat, leather, some menthol, some vanilla, some smokiness. Great complexity. Balance of acidity and tannins. Fantastic Pinot. Drink now and enjoy.

December 27, 2021 - Ripe, marginally cooked red berry fruit with initially a nice spiciness to it and sweet notes somewhere in the mix as well. Already noticeably aged and integrated palate. A simple wine that came across as quite enjoyable at first, but then kept deteriorating with the lack of precision becoming and over-extracted nature of the fruit becoming increasingly burdensome. We did not finish the bottle.

May 6, 2015 - On the first day in a very difficult shape. Paved with crude oaky impressions, caramel, unnervingly intense spices and an overall pretty nervous condition. On the second and third evening much better tempered. There were starting signs of nicely solid and round structure. The oak flavours were still very strong, however nowhere near compared to the Roter Porphyr Spätburgunder. This one was much more subtle and well equipped with promissing firm tannins. Hold it for a few years! Price seems ambitious to me.
