January 8, 2024 - Seems to have improved from my earlier rating a year or two ago. Unsure if it needed a little longer in the cellar or if my tastes have changed. In any case a fine robust Sonoma Coast pinot. Very enjoyable.
February 5, 2023 - Last bottle, and absolutely a delight. Drink up.
December 31, 2022 - Lovely - probably at its peak.
December 6, 2022 - Deep garnet color. Not much on the nose, but explosive cherry on the palate. Drinking great now
November 11, 2022 - Great body, well integrated and so smooth- would never know 14.6%
April 17, 2022 - Notes of leather and tobacco with a prominent alcohol presence. Much more robust than I prefer for a pinot, and needs a steak to accompany it. As long as you know what you're getting into, its still a nice wine.
January 4, 2020 - Burgundy color with a vague and fleeting bouquet and flavor just barely recognizable as Pinot Noir. Very bland with no intensity or depth and nothing to distinguish the beginning from the end. This wine was so different from the St. Rita's Crown, which was excellent.
September 1, 2018 - Not your garden variety Pinot with red tart fruits and bright acidity; but much rounder and fruit forward with a touch of sweetness (more extracted). In line with Bevan style with a nice overall balance and the purity of fruit stands out and carries a lasting finish. Enjoyable on its own and nicely done within the context of its own style. Needs a 30-60 min decant.
April 20, 2018 - Not a big and masculine as some of the other Bevan pinot noirs, but still superb. Deep rich fruit, purity, and ripeness are hallmarks with this wine.
November 23, 2017 - Fruit forward.
