May 16, 2016 - Nose on this wine is typical Cab Franc - herbaceous, green peppers, barnyard funk but with strong blueberry pie notes - very intriguing. I actually quite enjoy the nose. The color is purple with dark pomegranate red. On the palate, this is an easy peg for a Cab Franc. It's very well structured and has great acidity, with dark fruit, black currant and pomegranate. 2010 was a benchmark year on Long Island and this wine is a great example of the vintage. I'm not sold on LI reds as I feel they're way overpriced and lack the complexity that you get from west coast wines (Washington in particular) but this is a good expression of how far LI has come with the quality of their wines. This is definitely at the end of its drinkability window and I would recommend that anyone who has this, drink them by the end of the year. Solid 89-90 pt wine.
