April 17, 2024 - Very nice, given the not even average vintage. Fresh nose, flowers and oriental spices. Tertiary notes of tobacco, wet leaves and black pepper on the palate. Fresh, not too green, silky tannnins still present, mid-length. Great QPR at 22,- second hand.

July 24, 2023 - Last bottle, now showing weaker, which seems normal for a 26 years old wine from a small vintage. Maybe bottle variation, it still had some interesting sweetness, just somehow conflicting with an intrinsic bitterness. Slightly out of balance here. Would not consider buying more and would advise to drink up.

March 18, 2018 - Never say never again. I was done with 1997 Bordeauxs and expecting another mediocre "too late", until this Clos St. Martin. An inviting, elegant nose, jammy red fruit, cigar box, caramel and cocoa. Impeccable also on the palate, delicate toffee, mocca, cedar, elegant wood and toast aromas. Complex, perfectly balanced. Hedonists welcome!

February 10, 2018 - Needs decanting, high acidity, opens up after one hour in the glass. Massive wine with real potential. Intriguingly dense with fine tannins ... Multilayered Bordeaux at its best... real surprise given the vintage and previous comments about drinking window.

August 31, 2008 - Showing well. Nice black fruit with decent, yet short cedar finish. Drink now! Will be past prime soon.

February 11, 2007 - Surely at it's peak, sweet red fruits, fragrant nose and medium body, and the merlot based wine is telling us how smooth the wine is, lovely and drink up!
