March 30, 2021 - Atypical Amarone, lacking the phenolic/portwine "boost" provided by pre-drying some of the grapes. Also already in decline, with overmaturation amd madeira tones. Very mature red berries, toast, plum, pepper, garrigue.

August 18, 2020 - Last time I wrote about this wine I felt that it lacked aromatic intesity and phenolic notes. This time, on the second day, it surprised me positively, gaining aromatic weigt. Mature dark berry nose, with some pepper, menthol and liquorice. Medium bodied, with dark fruit, toast, plum, pepper, garrigue, chocolate. Well structured and balanced.

April 3, 2020 - A bit of an atypical Amarone, lacking the aromatic intensity and phenolic notes. Lots of freshness, dark berry nose, with some pepper, menthol and liquorice. Medium bodied, with dark fruit, toast, plum, pepper, garrigue, but well structured and balanced.

July 19, 2019 - Somewhat atypical Amarone, lacking the "boost" provided by pre-drying some of the grapes. Fresh, dark berry nose, with some pepper, menthol and liquorice. Medium bodied (sic!), this Amarone only hints at the typical aromas: dark fruit, toast, plum, pepper, garrigue. It genuinly lacks the phenolic / port aromas normally found in an Amarone and boasts unusually high acidity levels for this type of wine.
