July 9, 2020 - A generous nose of brioche, white peach and aniseed. It is full, rich and creamy, with good intensity and cut by the vintage's minerally acidity. Good finesse and length.

May 16, 2020 - Drank on the patio to celebrate Mothers' Day 2020 as the lockdown goes on and on....

No disgorgement information on this, but its been in my cellar for about 5 years, so the lees aging was certainly for a shorter period than many other examples from this top vintage.

Beautiful pale golden color suggesting some richness.

Evolved nose of green apple (slightly candied), citrus and some "baked" autolytic flavors. Definitely on the fruit side for an 08 vintage.

The palate is medium bodied and shows the structure and pedigree of the Chardonnay . Slightly more autolytics on the palate with still high acidity and a gorgeous and delicious finish.

    The bottle didn't last long....

Drank now , but if stored properly this can age another 5 years+. I wouldn't risk longer than that.

May 11, 2020 - Opened up with notes of tree fruits, sugar cookie, sourdough; Not as precise and structured as other 2008's I've had, but on the other hand, drinking really well now and quite approachable. Doseage seems a little high here, and more on the fruit tip than mineral. TBS, very good, nice with eggrolls wrapped in lettuce and mint.

April 3, 2020 - A lovely drop. Pol Roger has always been one of my favorite producers. This manages to avoid being too tart and is perfectly balanced. Still lots of freshness with a long way to go. Lots of enjoyment to be found here
