October 27, 2023 - 2002 Beaune and Volnay Premier Crus (San Francisco): Ruby, lighter outer third. Subtle fruit and perfume with a sharper fennel tone that sticks out. Quite rich and larger scaled than the 2 other d'Angerville wines in this flight. Pliable, sweet entry, earthy fruit, high acidity, medium length finish. This steadily improved while it was in the glass.

September 23, 2023 - Dirty on the nose with rough-ish tannin. Somewhat floral but earthy. 90-91

July 7, 2023 - 7/12 - no formal note but this showed well with red fruit, florals, soil, quite composed and soft now on the palate, with fresh acids, good length and a soil, mineral driven finish. In a good place, but no need to hurry.

January 28, 2023 - When first opened this was not happy to be out of the bottle; spiky acidity dominated the palate and was a little concerning. But 4 hours of slow oxidation helped tremendously. The nose opened to show red raspberry and currant fruit with some floral nuance. There's possibly some VA on this wine as well. It was apparent the last time I had it about 5 years ago. It's not terribly pronounced, but it may be obscuring the aromatics some. The palate fleshed out nicely, though it still had the crunch '02 acidity and a bit of a confected fruit character. This note sounds like the wine was worse than it in fact was. It's pleasurable just not particularly compelling.

November 8, 2022 - Marquis d'Angerville Tasting and Lunch (Restaurant Fitzgerald *, Rotterdam, NL): Harmonious and fresh and fully mature, gentle tannins, energetic and harmonious, supple and flowing, very much on the lighter side when compared to 2005 and 2003 but very elegant.
